Taking the first step into therapy can feel daunting, but finding the right space shouldn't be. As a HCPC registered Clinical Psychologist with over 10 years of experience in the NHS, I offer a warm, compassionate, and down-to-earth space where we can explore what’s holding you back without judgment.
Life can often leave us feeling overwhelmed, stuck in repetitive patterns, or disconnected from what truly matters to us. Whether you are navigating past trauma, struggling with anxiety, dealing with burnout, or simply seeking greater clarity, my goal is to help you understand your experiences and become free from whatever is holding you back.
Every person I work with is different, so the way we work together is different too. Rather than a fixed treatment programme, I offer therapy tailored specifically to you, your history, your goals, and what actually feels helpful.
"Sonam is a very sensitive and thoughtful therapist. She listens well and encourages free thinking without judgement."

Contact →Hi, I'm Sonam, a HCPC registered Clinical Psychologist with over 10 years of experience working in various NHS services and voluntary organisations.
As part of my journey to become a psychologist, I have worked in several specialties including: adult mental health, child and adolescent mental health, perinatal and infant psychology, neuropsychology, physical health psychology, homelessness, and autism and ADHD.
After completing my Doctorate in Clinical Psychology (DClinPsy), I found that I'm most drawn to supporting adults with their mental health. I have since worked in an Adult CMHT (Community Mental Heath Team) for several years and have completed additional training in DBT and EMDR therapy. I'm now bringing this experience and skills into my private practice to help clients like yourself improve their wellbeing and live their best life.
I believe therapy works best when it feels like a genuinely safe space — one where you can be open, without fear of judgement. My approach is warm and collaborative - I take the time to get to know you as an individual, not just the difficulties that brought you here, because you are so much more than that.
Rather than following a single method, I draw on an integrative approach blending different therapeutic modalities, depending on your unique needs and difficulties. Therapy approaches that I use include CBT (Cognitive Behavioural Therapy), DBT (Dialectical Behaviour Therapy), CFT (Compassion-Focused Therapy) and EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing).
Here are some of the issues I most often support people with
This isn't an exhaustive list, and what brings people to therapy is rarely just one thing — these difficulties often overlap rather than showing up in isolation. If your situation doesn't quite fit the categories above, please get in touch and we can talk it through.

“Being a client with Sonam has been one of the best decisions I've ever made. I was apprehensive to try therapy at first and I feel lucky to have found her. She creates a safe space for me to untangle my feelings and helps me create actionable steps to work on my anxiety. With her I feel heard and understood. After every session I feel more capable and supported to make strides forward in my progress, and when I take a step backwards she doesn't show any judgement and we work on it together. I highly recommend working with her.”
“Sonam is a very sensitive and thoughtful therapist. She listens well and encourages free thinking without judgement. I am enjoying my sessions with her and would thoroughly recommend her to anyone seeking therapy. Every journey starts with a single step and I feel Sonam can help you on your way.”
“Sonam is very attentive, and you can truly feel that she is listening and is invested in a positive outcome. On top of that she makes sure that she understands you, asking for clarification and follow up questions. She doesn't jump to conclusions and she remains neutral until she is certain she understands the problem at hand. She was also very good at allowing each of us to see things from the other's perspective. Sonam handles strong emotions that can come up in therapy amazingly well, leaving you feeling confident and safe to open up to her. She gives ideas and offers practical things to work on to help you and your partner understand each other better. I'm so glad that I found Sonam as I couldn't have imagined a better person to help me along.”
“I would highly recommend Sonam to anyone seeking support and guidance. She takes the time to really hear and understand both sides, creating a space where we feel listened to and supported. Her ability to help us understand each other better has made a meaningful difference in our relationship. Sonam sets us helpful tasks to work on throughout the week, and always checks in during the next session to see how things are going. We also appreciate the flexibility to bring up new issues as they arise, which makes each session relevant and responsive to our needs. Communication is easy and consistent, including being able to message via chat between sessions. Working with Sonam has been a really positive experience.”
